About Us
Maiden Voyage is an artist-led commissioning company offering discoveries in dance with, by, and for, artists, audiences, and participants
We commission, produce and tour distinctive dance performances across three strands; Maiden Belfast full length and mixed bills for stages; Dance Exposed short new work for public spaces; and Off Spring new work for young audiences and their adults.
Maiden Voyage is principally funded by Arts Councul Northern and Ireland and supported by Belfast City Council.
We offer a range of professional development programmes for artists at various career points including Prodance classes, Dancelab masterclasses, GradLab intensives and Creative Encounters for artistic research.
Our touring programme in underpinned by an extensive repertoire outreach programme based of themes of current production alongside our ongoing Seasonal Somatics monthly sessions and weekly Belfast Movement Group sessions.
Maiden Voyage’s foundational partnership with Luail, Ireland’s National and all-island dance company established in 2024 and funded by Arts Council Irealnd, opens further opportunities for co-commissions, developing touring networks, artist connections, training, development and engagement in dance across the island.
